A friend of mine recently told me that she was 60 per cent happy. This was the day after saying that she felt 80 per cent happy. She wasn’t sure how or why her happiness dropped in this way. This was judged from a program called Mood Detector.
What could S do about this? Well first S must try to look at what is happening. She has 2 good clues. Wednesday 80 per cent happy, Thursday 60 per cent happy. She can look at this two ways. Somewhere on those two days she stopped doing something that was making her happy, OR she started doing something that made her less happy. To stop this happening again, S MUST find out which it is. Then she should start doing either the thing that made her happy. Or stop doing the thing that made her less happy.
Obviously these thing could have been things that she had no control over. In that case S should make every effort to get those areas of her life under her complete control.
N.B This is a VERY simple answer. Most people would say that you can’t just do that. AND they are right! BUT, if you do the right things and do them in the right way. It is EASY. But you have to learn how to do the right things and in the right way. Believe me, it is easy when you know how to do it. Let me give you a bit of encouragement. Have you ever noticed how people who are happy are happy ALL THE TIME. Most of you know somebody like that. They know how to do it. You can learn too.
